Dr Sue Kemsley

GP, GPwSI Cardiology, Clinical CVD Lead, Clinical Lead for Primary Care , Health Innovation Northwest Coast (HINWC) & Northwest Coast Cardiac Clinical Network

I have been a GP partner for 29 years, and work in a busy practice in Cheshire. Throughout my career I have had range of clinical, education and regional leadership roles, focused on cardiovascular disease in clinical practice, as well as service development, quality improvement, and education. Following completion of a Masters in Cardiology for GPwSI in 2014, exploring heart failure service evaluation and redesign, I have co-authored several cardiovascular clinical pathways, including Atrial Fibrillation, Chronic Heart Failure including the recently updated chronic heart failure optimisation guide for Cheshire and Mersey ICB, and the Lifespan Pathway for Lipid Management. I am particularly committed to supporting NHS services to ensure clinicians are enabled to provide early heart failure identification and assessment, and early effective treatment, with evidence based long term management. I have recently enjoyed working with the Pumping Marvellous heart failure charity, helping to promote their BEAT-HF campaign and heart failure education for the non-specialist.
